Nutrition
that does the math.

After every meal, NourishMe shows you exactly what you and your babies still need today: calories, macros, micronutrients. You can course-correct with your next meal, instead of noticing at bedtime that something was missing. Evidence-based, tuned to your phase. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, everything in between.

Three things that make this different

An app built for your phase.

01

Real-time nourishment

After every meal, NourishMe tells you exactly what you and your babies still need today. One tap, one specific suggestion. No daily plan, no Googling.

"You still need 30 g protein and 250 mg calcium. A salmon bowl at lunch would cover it."
"Micros open: 6 mg iron, 50 µg iodine, 120 mg choline. An egg with dinner covers two of them."
02

Science open, data with you

Every recommendation traces back to DGE, BfR, EFSA, LactMed, FDA/EPA and WHO. Tap any number to see the source. Your data stays on your device. No account, no cloud sync.

"Caffeine while breastfeeding: 200 mg/day max · BfR 2024"
03

Calculated for you, not a flat rate

Each trimester, exclusive or mixed breastfeeding, pumped volume, number of children. NourishMe does the math on your actual data, not a generic table.

Forget the flat "+500 kcal" while breastfeeding. Your target, from your numbers.
What does the app calculate for you?

Pick your situation.

NourishMe covers every phase, and combines them when they overlap.

What NourishMe calculates for you

Breastfeeding, one baby, exclusive

We calculate your energy target from the milk you're actually producing, not the flat +500 kcal default. Protein and micronutrient targets follow the DGE breastfeeding guideline. Listeria, mercury and caffeine flags are on.

+580 extra kcal / day
+15 g protein extra

And when you want to feel at home in your body again? NourishMe calculates a deficit only as far as your milk and your own supply safely allow. Your goal, without your baby noticing a thing.

Set up in 3 minutes

How it works.

  1. 1

    Three-minute onboarding

Phase, trimester, height, weight, activity, number of children, estimated milk volume. NourishMe derives your energy and macro needs from those.

  2. 2

Log meals by text, photo or barcode

"Cereal with yogurt, one bowl." Done. Photos get identified automatically; packaged products pull their brand-accurate values from the Open Food Facts database. A meal can bundle several items — scan the skyr, then type the apple.

  3. 3

    The app remembers your favourites

Start typing and NourishMe suggests products from your history. One tap and the entry lands with the exact values from last time — no new estimate needed.

  4. 4

Get a coach hint right away

After every meal, one specific suggestion for what to eat next, based on today's progress and your daily target.

  5. 5

    Micronutrients tracked live

Iron, iodine, folate, DHA, choline, B12, vitamin D, zinc, calcium. After every meal you see where you stand today and where the gap is. The list adapts to your phase: pregnancy, breastfeeding, dietary style. Values from DGE and EFSA, every number traceable.

  6. 6

    Food-safety built in

Caffeine, alcohol wait times, mercury fish, listeria. All from official sources, no searching required.

  7. 7

    Trends at a glance

A dedicated tab shows a weekly chart, sweet-spot streak and weekly averages for calories and macros. You can see at a glance which days you were on target.

  8. 8

Reminders, only if you want them

Five configurable slots for breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, afternoon and dinner. Off by default, on with one tap. Scheduled locally on your device, no cloud.

Vanessa, founder of NourishMe
Why NourishMe exists

17 weeks ago I had twins. Leo and Carl.

From the first week of my pregnancy, one question stayed with me: am I actually eating enough, for all three of us? Every nutrient goes to the babies first. I had to stay on top of my own intake for the whole thing to keep running.

And there was just nothing out there that could tell me. Diet apps cut blind, whatever the cost to your milk or your own supply. Pregnancy apps clocked out the day you gave birth. Breastfeeding apps slapped on a flat +500 kcal, one baby or twins, nursing or pumping, didn't matter.

So I started building one myself. That's how NourishMe came to be.

After every meal, it recalculates what you and your baby still need — not just calories, but every macro and micronutrient. So you can course-correct with the next meal instead of finding out too late, on your real data, not a flat average. And every number traces back to a real source: DGE, BfR, EFSA, LactMed.

What started as my own fix is now here to help other moms asking the same question.

Frequently asked

Questions that keep coming up.

Where is my data stored?

Meals, profile, weight and settings live only on your iPhone, in a local on-device database. No cloud account, no sync, no server holds a copy. Delete the app and the data is gone.

Does the AI see my meals?

When you log a meal the description briefly travels to Anthropic's Claude for analysis; the reply comes back and is stored locally. Anthropic does not use API data for training (per their policy), and there's no account linking it to you. Anonymous usage stats (which methods, how often, whether coach replies arrive) go to PostHog on EU servers — without contents, weights or names. You can switch analytics off in Settings any time.

How accurate are the calorie and macro estimates?

For packaged products (barcode scan) very accurate: values come straight from the manufacturer via Open Food Facts. For text and photo entries they're estimates — solid for trends, not for medical precision. You can adjust amounts at any time and everything scales with it.

Where does the coach get its tips?

A language model (Anthropic Claude) phrases the meal suggestions. To keep it grounded, on every request it receives your current day's status, your profile (phase, weight, dietary style, allergies) and a fixed rule frame from official sources: calorie and nutrient needs from DGE and EFSA, food-safety thresholds from BfR, LactMed, FDA and EPA. The coach combines both, rather than relying on whatever it picked up during training. Every number in your daily target traces back to an original source.

Does the app work if I'm not (or no longer) breastfeeding?

Yes. NourishMe calculates based on your phase. In your profile you can switch between pregnancy, breastfeeding and "neither" at any time, and the calorie and nutrient calculations adapt. For general adult nutrition outside these phases, more specialised apps exist.

What if I'm vegetarian, vegan or have allergies?

You can set your dietary style (omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian) and allergies in your profile. The coach respects them absolutely: vegan suggestions contain no animal products, nut allergy means no nuts.

How much does NourishMe cost?

Free in the closed beta. For the public launch a monthly subscription with a 7-day trial is planned. Exact prices will be shared in time, and the principle stays: no ads, no data sharing.

Is NourishMe a medical product?

No. NourishMe is a personal wellness tool, not a medical device, and not a substitute for medical or midwife advice. For medical questions, high-risk pregnancy or existing conditions, talk to your doctor or midwife.
